Conditions changed during the last seven days in favour to the river anglers, Bream,skimmers, tench and perch all found in the nets reported, even 2 carp reported from the rivers,both to near double figures. Middle Level, conditions favoured the river men although strong gustily winds came so did the cloud cover allowing the bream to 4lb show and also skimmers to 3lb, nets to near 50lb were reported from the St Germans to Peters Stretch all though no bream reported skimmers were in abundance, worm castor and maggot all finding the skimmers on both the long pole and the feeder, unusual tactics of a small method feeder found the better skimmers when presenting castor and maggot on the hook. Roach also showing at peters on both sides of the bridge very rewarding nets to 15lb reported, pinkie, red and bronze maggot finding the better stamp fish, also plenty of hemp being fed. Neeps to Aqueduct, skimmers to 2.5lb and bream to 5lb showing in the middle stretches of the level ,Morton's and Crooked being the more favoured places, a lone carp also reported at this stretch nets to 39lb being recorded, roach tench and perch also showing well Ten Mile Bank, Plenty of anglers around during the week and weekend , early morning sessions working well with more fish being reported at the earlier times, Skimmers continuing to dominate up at the Denver- Piggeries stretch although the odd roach and perch have also been showing, nets to 33lb reported along this stretch. Wissey Mouth bream to 8lb showing tench to 7lb, the odd carp to 11lb 9oz also starting to feed during late afternoon sessions, feeder and pole lines now finding the fish all though the feeder both cage and method working well, small shoals of roach also now showing at 9 meters on the pole line. Railway Bridge- Chapel roach showing more on this stretch, also skimmers perch and tench. nets over 27lb recorded. bream also showing over the far side along with the bigger tench. Angling notice, Please could all anglers be aware that it is forbidden to take cars onto the banks of the Middle level and cars should be parked in the car parks provided, If this continues to arise then the commissioners of the Middle Level could withdraw the angling rights from the club. NATIONAL FISHING MONTH, kicks off this Sunday with KLAA hosting a FREE open day event at Tottenhill, free coaching and demonstrations will be given,bait and tackle will be supplied, rod licences not required for this event as a block licence has been obtained. Refreshments will also be available on site. All anglers, new or old welcome, come and have a go and learn to develop a new skill, all ranges of coarse fishing tuition will be available. Notice, Anglers Corner is still open although road works down Windsor road are disrupting the access to the shop. Parking is available at rear of the shop.
